Golf coaches often see incorrect setups when the weekend golfer has a driver in hand.
Here are some of the faults we tend to see:
A fairly narrow stance

Too much weight on the front foot

Little to no spine tilt

Ball position too far back

The following is how the majority of tour pros will set up for a tee shot:
- Wide with the feet:
This will help create a solid base for balance, which is important if we are looking for power. - Weight 50/50, with spine tilt
By having a good amount of spine tilt we are going to create a shallower attack angle into the ball, which reduces spin on the ball. - Ball position inside the left heel:
This will allow you to hit up into the ball, generating ball speed off the clubface.
