Golf coaches often see incorrect setups when the weekend golfer has a driver in hand.
Here are some of the faults we tend to see:
|A fairly narrow stance
||Too much weight on the front foot
||Little to no spine tilt
||Ball position too far back
The following is how the majority of tour pros will set up for a tee shot:
- Wide with the feet:
This will help create a solid base for balance, which is important if we are looking for power.
- Weight 50/50, with spine tilt
By having a good amount of spine tilt we are going to create a shallower attack angle into the ball, which reduces spin on the ball.
- Ball position inside the left heel:
This will allow you to hit up into the ball, generating ball speed off the clubface.
