On August 7th, the Hurstville Handiskins competition commenced for the 9th consecutive year.
Thanks to the help of our effervescent member Jimmy White, we broke all previous records with 54
players registering for the popular event where competitors combine their best 3 scores from 5
rounds in an effort to qualify for the $1200 Skins Final.
Round 1 saw one of last year’s finalists Gai Rowan score a career-best 47 Stableford points to take an
unassailable lead of 9 points from her competitors. Round 2 was the time for Peter Trethewy to
shine with a solid round of 39 points. For their efforts both Gai and Peter won a bottle of Peter
Lehmann Portrait wine, Leuk the Duck driver cover, sleeve of Bridgestone balls and $30 worth of
Sushi Hub vouchers. Congratulations to both competitors!
Unfortunately, before we could commence Round 3, the tighter restrictions left us with no choice
but to postpone the event until all competitors are able to participate. Hopefully, that won’t be too
far around the corner.
We will give everyone plenty of notice before the competition is recommenced. To see how you are fairing after Round 2 please click here.
