We are starting to see significant changes on and off the course at Hurstville Golf Course. Dry weather has allowed Angus and his crew to do a great job of shaping the 9th and 18th greens, 1st and 10th tees and the new putting green complex. Work has also commenced on excavating, bedding the edges and laying drainage for all three bunkers surrounding the 9th green and the front right side of the 18th green.
Unfortunately, the laying of turf on the fairway and green surrounds has been delayed because of a major turf shortage from the Hawkesbury Floods in March which damaged over 80% of turf for Sydney suppliers. It’s now likely our turf may come from as far away as Queensland.
Things are moving along nicely on the building site. The outer shell of our Cart Shed build has now been completed with electrical work being done in preparation for a new home for our carts. November will see the demolition of our old ProShop/Kiosk (Est 1968) and the start of a new era for Hurstville Golf Club. In preparation for the clubhouse works a temporary ProShop has been set up between the new 9th green and temporary 1st tee. We anticipate being in the temp proshop for approximately 6 months with a limited retail offering, however you will still be able to order golf equipment from us as always.
The entrance to the golf course will also move with a new front gate positioned at the back of the chipping green (old 9th green) and the temporary toilets will also be available just inside the front gate.
