Hurstville Golf Clubs president Steve Osborne had a day to remember when he attended the Coca Cola Invitational at Stonecutters Ridge GC. The day is primarily a chance for GM’s, Golf Club staff or committee members to join their clubs head professional to learn more about the golf industry, discuss trends and brainstorm new initiatives during a seminar, followed by an afternoon round at one of Sydney’s highly rated golf courses.
The course at Stonecutters is extremely challenging with many long holes and lightening fast greens, but our Club President Steve who usually dedicates most of his spare time to work tirelessly for the golf club as opposed to his golf game, was up to the challenge and ready to tackle the layout designed by Greg Norman. And as his partner, I was lucky to witness first hand some fantastic shot making, including some fairways woods clipped superbly from 180m off tight lies that finished within centimetres of the hole. And the putting display wasn’t too shabby either. At the end of the round Steve had scored an impressive 38 points and took out the individual honours. And to top off a great day, Steve and myself put Hurstville GC on top of the leaderboard in the 4BBB event with 45 points.
