Junior Golf Shines at Hurstville in Successful JOM Tournament
The Juniors on the Move (JOM) Tournament returned to Hurstville Golf Course on Sunday, April 6th, and proved to be a resounding success. Originally planned as a two-day event—with over 10s scheduled for March 30th and under 10s for April 6th—the tournament was condensed into a single day due to heavy rainfall.
Despite the weather-driven change, the event welcomed 46 junior golfers aged 6–14 from across the region, including participants from Shoalhaven Heads and The Entrance. Players ranged from first-time competitors to those with previous tournament experience, all showcasing impressive professionalism and sportsmanship on our challenging course.
Standout performances included Hanna Li’s remarkable round of 51 off a handicap of 40 and Sebastian Rose’s personal best score of 57 off a handicap of 37. Jai Douglas also made waves with an exceptional 5-under 32.
Feedback from Junior Coordinator Samarah was overwhelmingly positive, with many young golfers thoroughly enjoying their experience at Hurstville. Thanks to the success of the event, Hurstville is now being considered as a host venue for the JOM Tournament again in 2026.
