On Friday 16th June we welcomed the return of the Mayoral Golf Day to Hurstville Golf Course. The event which is coordinated by HGC member and former Mayor Kevin Greene, Phil Bates and The Lugarno Lions has always been a popular event for local clubs, sponsors and members of HGC. This year’s event doubled up as the official opening of the new clubhouse and golf course. And what a spectacular sunny winter’s day we were blessed with for such a monumental event. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves out on the course before returning to the magnificent new clubhouse for the traditional chicken, prawns and oysters which are always a winner. Georges River Council Mayor Nick Katris summed it up well in his speech quoting “Hurstville Golf Course now has the home it deserves for such a beautiful golf course”.
